Maths Word Not Squiggles provide maths and english tutoring to students in primary school and high school. They deliver tailored learning that builds confidence.
The Challenge
Create a Platform where parents can be more engaged with their child's tutoring.

Secondary Research: Market Research & Competitive Analysis
A competitive analysis was performed to understand the strengths, weaknesses, similarities, and differences between competitor tutoring services in the industry.
Meet Karen!
Karen is a mother of 3. One morning she prepares her daughters books for her coming tutoring session. She finds out her daughter has a fever and immediately rushes to reschedule the lesson. She opens the App but is unsure where she clicks to reschedule. She decides to call instead.

Let's rewind and break down the steps of Karen's journey that reveals more.
Her emotions begin to dip when she is unsure where she can reschedule + is unable to locate their number to give them a call.
What's the problem?
Problem statement -
Parents are not using the portal or App because of usability issues and a lack of perceived value -

"Why would I use the
platform if I can just call?"
So, Why do parents use other school apps?
Engagement
"Seesaw is good because it shows pictures of physical work... that's nice to see"
Seesaw and ClassDojo frequently communicate with parents; providing them with feedback which is highly valued by parents.

I completed a task flow and user flow to map the way a user navigates through the app using the main features to achieve their goals. This allowed me to understand the way the information was organised for the user.
